4th Day: 7 Fears or Phobias I have
Every one of us has his or her own phobias or fears. Some of them may be faced whiled others may be too hard to overcome.
- Losing my loved ones.
(That includes my family and friends and my future).
- Missing a Sunday mass.
(That would leave me restless for the whole day and of course feeling guilty).
- To be reprimanded.
(It includes being reprimanded without doing something wrong).
- I'm afraid of deep waters especially with sharks.
(That would be so awful.)
- Seeing someone die in front of me.
(I can't bear it in my conscience just to see that person die without doing something).
- Losing my faith. (It is my faith that saved me, why lose it now? I am really afraid that there will be a time I will lose it due to some circumstances I didn't ask. And if they said I'm an honest fool, then I say, it is better to be deceive than to lose that faith not only in God but in some people too).
- Angry parents.
(You know what its like to be scolded by your parents).

This Is My Calling, This Is My Pride
I just got home from my afternoon shift in a hospital pharmacy. Yeah, it was a bit tiring but it's actually fine, I had fun though and a good laugh as well. I am just wondering why is it so hard to find fellow pharmacists? Why is it we are only few? It is very rare for you to see other pharmacists who would actually practicing their profession, aside from the academe of course, but they are practicing through teaching young minds to have future pharmacists.
In my almost four months of working in the hospital, I had experienced a lot of frustrations and hardships, yes, my experience is not yet comparable to what others may have experienced. Sometimes, I am wondering if being a pharmacist is a curse or we are just not appreciated by others? Just because we are few, it does not mean that we are not important, where in fact we are part of the health care team and we are important. I always wonder why the treatment of pharmacists in the Philippines and other countries are so different. You may not blame other pharmacist who chose to work in abroad because there, PHARMACISTS are appreciated and highly recognized while here, in our own country, we are just the "inday" and the "toto". We don't mean anything to them, they don't even know that we are existing, they don't know how difficult and risky our work is. They are just seeing the superficial things we do like dispensing their medication. I admit, it is better to serve foreigners because they are respecting you, they are asking you for knowledge and advice, you will feel that you are needed and you could apply what you know through counseling. They give you due respect and you will feel so confident.
Fine. I need to stop this. I just feel sad because two of our pharmacists will be leaving us. It will be a burden on our part because we are now decreasing in number and a lot of work to do. Three areas to cover and in patients and out patients to serve, and there's only about 12 pharmacists left to do them all! We need more pharmacists, not only in our hospital but here in the country…=(
